Editorial Policy

This page explains how content on Cursor.fan is produced, verified, and maintained.

Sourcing

We prioritize primary sources:

  1. Official Cursor documentation and release notes.
  2. Reproducible testing in a local Cursor installation.
  3. Public discussions where maintainers or users report a reproducible behavior.

When official documentation is ambiguous or out of date, we describe what we observed and note the version we tested.

Verification

Every tutorial is expected to include enough context to be reproducible: required version, operating system assumptions, commands, and expected output.

For troubleshooting articles, we require:

  • the exact error text or symptom,
  • the conditions under which it appears,
  • at least one fix we have validated,
  • and a clear statement when a fix is a workaround rather than a root-cause solution.

Updates and freshness

Cursor ships frequently. Pages may become outdated when menus, model names, or pricing change. We periodically review high-traffic pages and record a "last verified" date where applicable.

If a page contains a version-specific statement, treat it as accurate for the stated version, not necessarily for later releases.

Use of AI assistance

We may use AI tools to draft, translate, or edit content. All published material is reviewed for technical accuracy and readability before release. AI assistance does not replace hands-on verification.

Corrections

If you find an error, please contact us with the page URL and a short description of the problem. Confirmed factual errors are corrected as soon as practical. Substantive corrections may be noted in the page.

Advertising

The site displays advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising is separated from editorial content, and advertisers do not influence coverage, rankings, or recommendations.
